A Study on Factors Affecting Oral Disease Symptoms in Adolescents

Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting oral diseases symptoms in Korean adolescents.
Methods: Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were performed using complex sampling to determine the effect of oral symptom experience using the 16th Korean adolescent risk behavior web-based survey.
Results: Oral symptom experience was affected by sex (female), educational stage (middle school), drinking and smoking habit, low brushing frequency, stress, suicidal thoughts, depression, and loneliness.
Conclusions: To ensure proper oral care among Korean adolescents, regular oral health education is imperative.
